Video that holds attention past the first three seconds
Most social videos lose viewers before anything interesting happens. At Hesluri, we run structured seminars that address exactly where that goes wrong — pacing, cuts, audio sync, and the small decisions that quietly determine whether someone watches or scrolls.
What the seminar actually covers
Editing for social media is not just about cutting clips together. Platform algorithms reward watch-time, shares and replays — so structure, sound and the first 1.5 seconds of a video affect reach in measurable ways.
The seminar runs across six weeks with eight modules covering Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve workflows, caption design, audio correction without plugins, and format-specific exports for Reels, Shorts, and TikTok. Each session builds on the previous one, with hands-on editing assignments between live meetings.
Seminar structure week by week
-
Week 1 — Platform mechanicsComplete How each platform interprets video files, why the same clip performs differently across Reels and Shorts, and what metadata actually matters at upload.
-
Week 2 — Timeline foundationsComplete Project setup, proxy workflows for slower machines, and building a clean multicam sequence from raw footage.
-
Week 3 — Audio and music syncIn progress Beat-matching cuts to audio, ducking background music under voiceover, and correcting 3–4 dB of room hum without plugins.
-
Week 4 — Colour and lookUpcoming Basic grade in DaVinci Resolve, LUT application, and maintaining a consistent look across footage from different cameras or lighting setups.
-
Week 5 — Text and motionUpcoming Animated captions, lower-thirds, and simple kinetic text — built inside Premiere without After Effects for faster delivery.
-
Week 6 — Export, review, feedbackUpcoming Each participant submits a finished 60-second social edit. Group review with written notes on timing, audio levels, and specific technical decisions.
Cohorts are kept small — up to 12 participants — so feedback stays specific. Contact us to check current availability.
